The Club caters for players of all standards
Monthly internal squash leagues are organised for players of all abilities. Each league consists of four or five players. The League tables are displayed on the squash notice board and are emailed to participating members. The leagues run throughout the year, and each month the player with the most points wins a bottle of wine and goblet kindly donated by Lighthouse Epsom IFA.
Members wishing to join these leagues need to sign up on the sheets. New entrants are also encouraged to attend Monday Club Night sessions at 6.30pm or one of the regular Sunday club sessions.
We run four teams in the Surrey Cup, our first team competes in Division 3 and our fourth team in Division 9, so there is a wide spread of ability. We also run four teams in the Veteran’s Surrey Cup, and the first team won Division 1 in this competition last year; and two teams in the Vintage Surrey Cup. All results can be found on the Leaguemaster section of Surrey Squash and Racketball site: http://county.leaguemaster.co.uk
There is an annual tournament which takes place between February and May. The Open Champion is Andy Normile, who beat previous champion Simon Black in a closely fought final this year. The handicap tournament was won by Kevin Douglas, runner up was Jason Mengers; and the doubles competition was won by Peter Crossman and Ed Myhill, who defeated Bill Saville and Alan Clarke.
