On Saturday 5th September, a ‘Members Doubles’ petanque competition was held, which was organised by Stuart, and ran like clockwork. This competition proved very popular and a refreshing change to the usual Saturday afternoon Melee. There were three 35 minute timed games with a short break between each game.
Upon arrival, the 24 players were each given an individual sheet detailing the partners for each game, the opposition, and which terrain to play on. The partners, the opposition and terrain allocation were pre drawn to save time which worked very well. Well done to Stuart for organising a great competition.
The winners were the individuals who achieved the highest points tally after three games.
Jonathan won scoring 33 points; Barbara B was second with 31 points, and Barbara K was third with 30 points. The prizes for the event were hand painted coches from France. Allan also received a coche for the most consistent score in each round.
A great afternoon was enjoyed by all members who took part. We hope to repeat this competition again soon.
