The 2019-20 Wallis Cup Tournament has now started; you can find the rules and latest score sheet below. This is an annual handicapped Mixed Doubles tennis tournament running from October to April whose main objectives are to encourage social play throughout the winter and to give new and existing members an opportunity to meet others in a friendly but gently competitive setting. The handicap format gives every pair an opportunity to score games.
The tournament consists of four stages – the round-robin stage, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
In recent years, the finals have been played on the same day as the main club Summer Tennis Tournament finals in June. The Wallis Cup trophy is awarded to the winning pair and engraved with their names. A trophy is also awarded to the pair who play the most matches in the round-robin stage.
