Charity Exhibition Squash Match

The club was host to an amazing exhibition of top class squash on Sunday 20 March in aid of the Garden Route Children’s Trust (see www.grct.org.uk).

Marwan Elshorbagy, World No 7 and Joel Makin, World No 8, (seen in main photo) started the evening by playing some of the Club’s juniors and first team members before showing a crowd of about 50 why they are in the top 10 in the world.

They mesmerised those watching their skill with a mixture of power and delicate shots, somtimes from seemingly impossible positions!

Although Joel won 3-1 it was anyone’s match until the final few points.

Afterwards Marwan and Joel kindly stayed on to have a drink and a delicious curry with members and guests.

Thanks to Peter Crossman, the club’s squash coach who masterminded the event - which was a great event for squash, the Club and for the Garden Route Charity which receive £2000 to help educate and feed South African children in need.
