Cricket & Petanque Match

On Sunday 29th August, 2021, the Cricket & Petanque sections ‘merged’ for a friendly competition which was great fun for all 24 players. 

12 cricketers and 12 petanque players played in mixed teams for a couple of games.   It was a great afternoon, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, ending with a lovely speech by Captain Henry Thorpe, and a generous presentation of wine which we will serve to our members after the next Melee. 

The cricketers then headed off to play their internal Cricket match (youngsters vs. oldies) followed by a BBQ. 

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon it was.  The weather was very kind too with lovely sunshine.  We cannot wait for our next afternoon  of Cricket vs. Petanque”!
