End of Winter Season Tennis Results

Cause for Celebrations

It has been a mixed bag of results for the tennis teams at the club over the winter season.  However, there have been some notable successes to celebrate.

In the Woking Leagues our Mens A team finished as champions in the Woking league with a fantastic 6-2 win over Bagshot. Overall, they won 5 of the 6 matches and drew the other. This is an incredible achievement given the strength of the teams in and around Division 1 of the Woking League. Congratulations to 1st team captain Stephen Morris and the entire team. 

The Mixed B team captained by Jane Betterton, won Division 2 and will join the first team in Division 1 next winter.  Having narrowly missed out on relegation last winter, this is a fantastic achievement for the B team!

In the Surrey Leagues, despite a final match loss to Reigate Priory, our Mens 3rd team managed to secure promotion.  Congratulations to captain Peter Barrand and the 3s. 

And we are delighted that the Ladies 1st team, captained by Rachel Hayes and Sarah Shaw have had a tremendous season and gained promotion for next season, missing out on top place in their division by just 1 rubber!

Tennis is looking positive at the club as we move into the summer season and build on the winter results!
